I have another blog of miscellaneous essays and poetry. I started this one to specifically share the unanticipated poetry that comes to me during acupuncture. Haikus come easy In the contemplative zone Under the Needles

Walking on rich soil and pine needles, loam, ferns, wildflowers, and
carpets of grass;
overhead, the wind hums, birds sing,
and leaves rustle in the mottled canopies.
Moss and vines, ground cover, undergrowth,
the musky sponge-like mushrooms;
and the musty, worm filled mulch;
the air smells of green growth and brown earth.

Great Lakes waves crashing
Half frozen forms in mid swell
Beneath ice, fishes swim

(For Joanne Barsanti)
Bluewater; calm, still
Wisps of clouds; whispers of trees
Heron and Egret
Waiting, Patiently, alert
Watching; flit grey-green, then whoosh.
