Prevailing Wind

The light within me is warmed by and reflects others' kindness and love.

The ember of my life was handed down to me by ancestors, fueling my curiosity and will.

Deep inside me though, there is a molten core of strength forged in the furnaces of adversity and loss as well as the life waters of passion and pain. 

Like all fires, mine flickers and fades, fizzles and flares. My intent is my strength.
The whispered breath of my thoughts fan my wavering strength to a blaze, tempering a spine of steel. 

The awareness of loss, loneliness, and regret may chill me with missed love, but my inner fire will not be quenched. 

My strength is within me and even alone I will prevail. 

I am the child of an ancient line, a strong woman bred of will. 

I will keep my chin up and not be concerned about the stares of strangers or swayed by the worry of friends.
